Stuart Line fishing Exmouth I've just been told that I'm going out boat fishing on the 16th on one of the Stuart line boats out of Exmouth as part of a mate of a mates birthday celebrations. I'm not great on boats to be honest, so until now I've managed to avoid it. Consequently I know absolutley nothing about boat fishing methods or rigs and have no gear what so ever. Can anybody tell me anything about the boat/skipper/type of fishing we'll be doing and anything I can do to prepare so I don't look stupid when I get out there.... The web site says they'll provide bait etc, but should I take along anything of my own (Just to get a slight edge over my mates )Cheers, Rich.

Re: Stuart Line fishing Exmouth charter boats normaly provide rods and reels the you catch mackerel for bait Type of fishing will normaly depend on the tides Big tides would usualy mean u drifting Small tides Anchoring By preparing if you mean sea sickness the best ways to avoid it are to not drink the night before, get plenty of sleep, stay in fresh air not in cabin, take sea sickness tablets either the night before and/or the morning __________________

Re: Stuart Line fishing Exmouth Baggie - I might be wrong but Im pretty sure that Stuartline only do makeral fishing - I dont think they are an official deep sea charter so you shouldnt be out too deep - the makeral boats usually just head out of Sandy Bay depending on the tides. __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up !

It might be that my mates mate has chartered the boat. Only one way to find out I guess..... Presuming it was a deep sea trip, what rigs / tactics etc. would be best? Rich. |

Re: Stuart Line fishing Exmouth Hi Rich, if you're on the drift a flying collar rig ...boom, 10 to 15 foot trace, shad or anyone of the rubber lures you fancy. On the bottom, a simple running ledger rig four to six foot trace and hook, size 6/0 fine wire aberdeen should cope with most fish, if conger are the target use 250lb mono and 8/0 meat hook. Bait is squid or macci. Hope it helps __________________ Poor prep= Pathetic Performance

Re: Stuart Line fishing Exmouth Rich, swallow a couple of spoons of strawberry jam before boarding, it won't stop you upchucking but it'll taste better on the way out. Another tip, if you are seasick and see anything brown coming up, gaff it quick, it's probably your 4rsehole

If you can borrow a light boat rod & reel ideally loaded with braid, then I would mate. Charter boat loan gear is usually crap. Would lend you mine, but it's a bit far to travel. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Re: Stuart Line fishing Exmouth I'd recommend 8+ pints the night before, 2 hours sleep and a massive fry up in the morning. Works for me every time __________________ ><((((((*> ><((((((*> ><((((((*> trailer cleaning
