Lightbulb Small boat owners ! Check this out.

Any of you guys interested in a freindly monthly competition that does NOT involve you going out with other boats? You choose your day and crew, just one form to fill in and send back. It does take honesty and trust thats all.

Competition fishing has got to be the best way to improve your fishing skills! (Gus Angus' words to give him credit)

Teams of 2, if four of you go out you got two teams!

If you're interested stick a reply up with name of boat and area fished, an e-mail address would also be useful.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Cheers Jules..

Re: Small boat owners! Check this out.

Sorry Jules I was in Exmouth gettin some extra practice - didnt flyin work though !!

Sounds like a great idea to me so put me down for sure - With all the others on the forum who own boats we should be able to make this have at least five or six teams. Do you reckon its worth putting on the general discussion forum for those who dont read this section very much, but who might have access to a boat ?

Looking forward to this weekend Jules - Im counting the days down it should be good. By the way do you fish in the winter ?

Im probably going to join Portishead small boat and angling club - 10 quid for the year and regular match competitions etc. Fishing the channel which can be tricky so generally there are quite a few boats out in safe numbers. I contacted them a while ago and they have over 50 boats and 100 members - wandered if you fish in winter and if not / if you do - do you fancy coming along with your boat or joining us for a few sessions ?

Cheers mate

Re: Small boat owners! Check this out.

Tommy,
So out practicing eh?........so am I tomorrow!
Got the forrms from Gus and will try having a comp between the 4 of us tomorrow to make sure I understand it all, will post up the results when added up. So far Ive always taken the boat out in october and stored it near my home to do various repairs painting etc but this year I'm gonna leave it in and try for the cod, whiting and stuff.
I don't enjoy trailing it and launch and retrieve is a pain so I won't be joining Portishead good luck tho, burnham on sea is meant to be a good club as well.

sunday is finally nearly here! Nicks coming, we're gonna have a great time!!!

Cheers Jules
ps good idea I'll post up the comp on gen forum
