| What a hot day on board Lady Helen What a hot day on board Lady Helen We set sail at 10.30am which was really strange as we were all so used to early starts but made a very nice change. After our long steam out it was time to see what was about so within a minute of the anchor setting , our rods were out and we were ready for battle Tactics for the day Uptiding 8oz grip leads 3 to 4 foot 40lb hook lengths with ever single or pennel rigging Baits where peelers / squid / mackeral / prawns and frozen crab With in a 30 second four of use were straight in to some ( sorry they were not released ) All action ![]() What a four hook up ![]() With the sunshining it was not long before the smoothounds started to show with some lovely fish coming aboard ranging from 6 to 13 lb On the day fresh peeler was the definite winner and totally out fishing all the rest of the baits . The grand total for the day was 35 plus smoothounds , dogfish and a few nice rays. A record was also broken by andyg for the longest lasting hick ups Thanks to mike and dan for a great day more pics to add once mike has sorted them out __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |

| Re: What a hot day on board Lady Helen Hi Pross No we had 8 plus Mike and Dan Really good day....you have to have a scots man on the boat to heckle the English when they get kicked out of the World Cup, thought he might of had to swim home at one stage!!....just as amusing as the frying pan fire on the last trip! Heavy on the bait though me and my mate went through 65 peels/softies but it came up trumps with us getting 19 hounds between us, including 4 doubles of 10lb, 11.5lb, 12.5,lb and a lump of 13.5lb to my mate! there were also a couple of good rays taken too, I can't rember the sizes but there was a really good small eye over the 11lb mark (i think) and a good spotted ray too. Nearly forgot the seal that came to investigate the boat but obviously couldn't put up with the constant portugal chants from andy and found somewhere else a little quieter and the pod of porpoise seen on a change of marks! thanks again for arranging the trip Richard, really good fun with excellent company.
