Re: Live sandeels. Whenever I use them I simply have a long trace back to the swivel made of flurocarbon so it dissappears. The hooks are then put the through the eyes of the sandeel - this sounds grim ( and it is ) but the eel then swims around like mad ! Even if some of the sandeel look dead they seem to come alive when hooked this way - funny that - thats the best way Ive been told anyway. churz __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up !

Re: Live sandeels. Best way is thro the bottom lip and just nick the hook thro the belly skin just after the fins.........

Re: Live sandeels. Hi, I would never think I knew better than a charter skipper, he's out there doing it far more often than me!!! But in my small fishing area......only got a little boat.....the method Tommy mentioned has always worked best, maybe because I generally fish shallow areas and need a lot of action but only for a short while. Guess you've just got to try each way and decide for yourself. Cheers, Jules. __________________ born to fish....forced to work
