Thumbs up Weekend 3/4 June

Well just about recovered from a great weekend out on the boat and a spot of

Original plan was to hang around the coast between Poole and Weymouth, snuggling into Lulworth or Worbarrow overnight in the forecast light NNW breeze.

However after picking up some mackerel late Friday off Durlston Head we simply 'forgot to turn right' and headed straight on because of the fantastic conditions.

Going out....

Overnight we hid away in a sheltered spot amongst the rocks as we were too knackered to fish

- but got gogin again at first light each day.....

Good bag of turbot, brill and bass came our way; mainly to livebait launce.

and

all on 14lb braid, a little St Croix 8-12lb rod and a calcutta 400s which is a delight to hold all day long! With only 3oz of lead and 40m of water you get a lot of fun per fish!

heading back Sunday afternoon the conditions were truly awful and we spent the entire trip wondering why we were heading back in those conditions ...

Once within a couple of miles of Poole the sea became all sloppy with a sea breeze and boat wakes - nearly turned round!

Oh well probably wont get out fishing again until September now but it's been fun

Oh they were Richard - they were!

No snags, light lead and pretty deep water - best described as a tussle!
