Re: Shades for wreck fishing

I generally wear them over my eyes mate as I find putting them on my rigs don't help me see any better. Polaroids help a lot

As for shads, ask Gus , for he is the king of the wrecks.

Ooooh Paul you can be so cruel......

All I know is what John Marshall told me, you need to crank 'em like 'ell so as to get the tail waggling, guess the tide will help a little when flowing. Think the principle is the same as jelly worms, keep on reeling in at a steady rate when hit, but John n Gus are the men for this topic

Dan,

The current maternal state of my wife means she won't be getting any ideas... cry Only 7 weeks until the baby is born.

Re: Shads for wreck fishing

hi guys, Shads according to size and type. For small shads you need to wind a bit faster than jelly worms. for large shads you need to wind quite a bit faster than jelly worms, use 10 -14ft flowing traces on flying collar rig with 12 - 14" booms. For storm shads the ones with weights in the heads use 8 -10" booms on 3 - 4ft traces and wind as for small shads as with jellyworms do not strike when you feel the fish taking the lure just keep winding and make sure that your reel clutch is set so that it can take line when it dives. we have seen a lot of good fish lost through overtight clutches. any fish lost through overtight clutches on sunday will result in a stream of abuse in stereo from John and myself (you have been warned)
