Bass rod recommendations .........

Chaps,

Just wanted peoples opinions on what rod is suitable for bass fishing / a bit of plaice fishing off the boat this summer ?

I have a good Abu uptider and would like to get another Abu for bassing but just wandered if people had their own thoughts on a good bass rods for boat fishing and maybe the odd day on the surf beaches ?

I think you have hit the nail on the head Tommy.

A 4 - 8 uptider would do the job. I use mine for all sorts of fishing, they are excellent rods for all types of fishing. One of the most versitile rods in my collection.

The uptider will do the job, might be a bit heavy if you want to have some light tackle fun,i use a 12lb class Abu Conlon for the bass and smaller stuff,great fun,and the rod can handle bigger fish also,had a cracking 11lb Small Eye last year on it ,quite a fight..
