Re: Hooking bass on live sandeels

just been to tackle shop in exmouth and asked about live eels. aparently there are 2 guys called mike (one is mike king)who catch eels for the charter boats and can be found by exmouth dock entrance in the mornings, will sell any left over but you can book as well.think they are found by the ramp?
hope this helps

Re: Hooking bass on live sandeels

Thanks Pinguprogress, Tommys on holiday this week but I'm sure he'll appreciate it when he returns.

I went fishing today!!!!

Mackeral Mat and Dill (with a broken shoulder) came with me,Dill is a silly boy but the call of the sea is very strong and the force is strong with him.

We caught the following ALL (except 1 doggie) drifting with live sandeels.

Too many mackeral, most went back, flounder, dogfish, crabs and please believe me...a starfish!
Not one bass. weird. We had a great time

I'm not too hot on this here computer wizadry but I will try to post a photo.

Boy Chappell are you coming out on 1st august?
Cheers guys, Jules.

Re: Hooking bass on live sandeels

just for info for you guys as you fish exmouth and area,
2 guys on little flat boat were drifting near slipway (about 20yrds out)by exmouth docks and catching loads of bass 1.5 hours off high tide so on a good rip in.
didnt think could keep from there from boat,
also couldnt see what they were using to catch but i was throwing lug and rag into same area for nothing, so went for wrasse by wall instead.

Re: Hooking bass on live sandeels

Hi Pingup,
thanks for the info, I'm Teignmouth but Tommys boat is in Exmouth and I'm pretty sure he will be able to use it to his advantage.
Chappers
Just noticed you live in chilcompton, I work in Wells and live in Somerton. 1st of august is a sunday, if your dad doesn't want to go fishing with you maybe he can get you to somerton and you can come the rest of the way with us load of reprobates. One major point though..when I go fishing I'm on a mission and will not wait for anyone who's late! Gonna be an early start as tide is set fair for floating off at 6am!!! Actually as we will be fishing down and up realistically we need to be there by 9ish so leave somerton 7.30 latest.
We'll buy a load of live sandeels when we get there. Have you got bucket and aerator? If not nick one of your old mans buckets and go buy a pump from tackle shop, mine was only 3 quid.

I've managed to post up a couple of photo's, enjoy and be jealous.

Regards all and stay safe, Jules

Re: Hooking bass on live sandeels

Hi chappers

I don't believe it, what is it with you young guys these days, always after a free beer. My son is 23 and just come back home to live, you guys have got to get your act together and move on!!!
I got a taxi in Wells and the last thing I need is to take a drink at lunch time! If you are in Wells after 6pm we could meet and talk boats and fishing though, after a days work I need it. I've got 3 weddings tomorrow (saturday) and I'm working sunday too. Out on the boat Tuesday with Matt Dill and a customer called Mike.
There is no college in Wells??? What are you on??
August 1st is looking good for me Matt Tommy and you so should be a good day out. Any decisions about transport? We can only take you if not to much fuel to carry as we will be fairly heavily loaded for the day. We're going out every tuesday this month ,weather permitting. Join us if you can.
Stay safe, Jules.

Re: Hooking bass on live sandeels

I go to Wells Blue 6th form... and saying "6th form" wastes my time... and saying i go to school just sounds... wrong...

... I've pretty much always got 2 get the half 3 bus bk 2 good old chilco anyway... so im very rarely in wells after 6... the only time im there after 6 is wen ive got a driving lesson, so drinking aint a good idea then either...
