a freind of mine wants to buy a beastmaster uptide rod has any one got one or used one and can the give me some info on it so i can pass it on to him good /or bad

Not sure on the shimano but your friend wants to look at the ABU suveran Pro uptide . Its a top uptiding rod and I was recommended it by some very good uptider anglers from the forum and they were spot on

The Suveran is the DOGS B#######S,have had one for a couple of years and can take all the punishment you give it.

If you shop around ,the are around the £100 mark.The best version is the 6-10oz casting weight,two piece,9`6",it has an extending butt section so you can tweek the rod to your comfortable length to cast and also retract the butt to play decent fish.

Here`s one in action ........with a 17lb Blonde Ray in a couple of knots of tide,expertly demonstrated by Richard...
