| Sully slipway I dont know if anyones interested but i`ve just bought a key for the Sully slipway. The slipway has a height restriction on it to stop the travellers getting through with their caravans etc. This is the Local Authority one behind the amenity site in the Vale of Glamorgan. You have to ring the council first (01446 700111) and ask for the Court Road Depot. The Depot is actually in Barry Road by Jenner Park football ground. You have to fill in a few details, hand over £20 and the key is yours for life. I questioned the "for life" bit and they said that is correct...not like the penarth slipways that are only for a year. Those slipways are dealt with by another dept in Wenvoe. I dare say that it wont be long before it goes to an annual fee but i`m taking advantage of it for now anyway. I asked about any incidents there and they didnt know of any. I asked about the burnt out car on the beach and they didnt know about that either. The slipway only has limited use as obviously it is tidal. I would say it is useable up to 3-4 hours of the ebb and after 2-3 hours of the flood. __________________ Andy. ------------------- Treat each day as your last, one day you`ll be right. |
