Boat Fishing Gosport 11 July

Well after a great shore fishing day out , Im looking forward to the boat trip out of Gosport 11 July

Andyg is it going to be a little comp or a fun day fishing thing

Myself will be targeting smoothounds and the odd tope - hopefully with some hermitt crab as bait for the smoothounds

The rigs , well must pull my finger out and order some bits but flowing trace bounced back from the boat on the lightest lead I can get away with

Gosport 11th July...

THERE ARE STILL 2 PLACES AVAILABLE!!!!!

I reckon we'll have a fun day out with a wee competition thrown in to keep it interesting. We can have a chat with Gus on Saturday as I think he's fishing for 3 days before the trip so should be able to tell us where the best spots are. I will be trying to catch everything 'cause the comp scores more for more different species - but if I get into a shoal of bream there'll be no stopping me :)

A couple of the guys who are coming would really like something nice for the table, as would I, so I'd really like them to go home happy with some bream/bass/plaice/maccy etc.

The bream rigs will be coming out for sure with squid strips and some ground fishing with hermit, squid and hopefully maccy.......

So, eight of us on the boat - suggestions for the bait order please?!?!?!? Hows about:

3 boxes squid
48 hermit crab
1lb rag

Any other ideas/ preferences?

I take it that is small boxes of squid if your only using it for strips they will be plenty. hermits will be right and the rag, the tope will be forming into big packs so you need to get a good stock of fresh maccies when you leave harbour.

Boat Fishing Gosport 11 July - As Gus says 1 box os squid will be good

Yes , it will be great to get some tope as I did not get one last time

My target is 40lb this year , so depending on my posistion on the boat will give a live free lining joe a go

Gus where s the best place to get the hermit

THERE ARE STILL 2 PLACES AVAILABLE!!!!! - It will be a great day out so why not come along and have a great days fishing

Re: Boat Fishing Gosport 11 July

I'll talk to the skipper today, I'll find out what the extra cost will be for wrecking. Also, if we're wrecking should we get less bait? I'll get back to Gus on the hermit after I've spoken with the skipper. Wrecking - sounds good to me if the cost doesn't go up too much :)

Maybe we could book Paul's boat one weekday and go wrecking, that would keep the cost down.
