Cardiff Aproach

I notice that they are starting to dredge the aproach to Cardiff Bay, they have also repositioned the buoys, does this repositioning still give ample depth to get in and out at low water. I only ask as we are heading out for an all nighter and I don't fancy trying to navigate in the dark if the depth is to shallow.

Re: Cardiff Aproach

The channel is still there, but you have to navigate it without the buoys,as the position they are moved to has no bearing on where the channel is....so be very careful at low water, its a bigish 11m , wont be much water .....do you have a gps or depth sounder ??

Re: Cardiff Aproach

Cheers for that Mike, think i'll try to go in and out when the tides up a bit, its only a small boat but don't fancy trying to find my way through in the dark at that depth. I do have a gps and depth finder and on ocassions we have gone through in 3ft of water which always makes me slightly nervous as ive seen a few boats grounded.
