| Re: "BOAT FISHING" MAGAZINE up tiding, was devised by two people called Cox and Rawle the method was for boat fishing in shallow waters of the thames estuary, to get the bait out of the scare area of the boat generaly thought to be eighty feet. the scare area is caused through noisy fishermen, the boat slapping the waves and the throbbing on the anchor rope when the tide is realy running. They also devised a complete set of hooks to go with the method. It involves using a gripper lead and running ledger the bait is cast towrds the front of the boat at about 1-2 oclock or 10-11 oclock using the bow of the boat as 12 oclock, and allowing a belly to form in the line when the fish takes the bait it automatically hooks itself when it pulls away because of the gripper weight. bites are detected either by the line going slack or the rod being pulled over. and before you ask ben no we will not be doing any on the 1st of august as the water will be too deep. |
