Smile Yorkshire Coast

Hi All,

New boy here and need some advice on boats - dead simple really. From the humber to Newcastle which boat is the best for someone new to the game and which port is best overall?

Phil

Re: Yorkshire Coast

That is a big area to cover. I take it you are talking about charter boats?

Re: Yorkshire Coast

Hi guys,

I have been out of Whitby on Wandrin' Star and Shy Torque2000 but the coast is long and about the same time for me to get to most spots. I am therefore keen to hear from people who have fished and caught at least something.

It would also help if any tips on rigs and baits was there to be had.

Look forward to hearing from you folks.

Phil

Re: Yorkshire Coast

I used to use nothing but Ocean crusader out of Bridlington.
After years of getting ripped of i found the skipper to be a fealy genuine bloke who always did his best to find fish for you.

Re: Yorkshire Coast

Although I hav`nt been out with him for a good few years, I always found Alan Skinner`s boat, Sarah JFK to be fantastic. In my opinion he is one of the top skippers on this coast. He is based on the Tyne and if you have to travel a fair distance, you will not be dissapointed. If the fish are there, Alan will find them. He also cares that the people he takes on board catch fish. In the past, if the fish hav`nt been there, he`s come back and given a discounted rate, other skippers would stay out just for the money.

A guy who works at the same firm as me, Alan Black has caught the 2nd biggest rod caught cod from the Sarah JFK, about 53lb.

Trythis link to his site http://sea-angler.org/sarahjfk

Hope this helps.

Darran
