Re: boat trip ben , mate that bass was caudht with squid heads and cut up groundbait as i told you before. if you keep plugging away like that i assure you that it will work, i caught it 4ft off the end of my boat in its mooring in fareham creek.when you catch one you will see they are full of tiny crabs.the majority of the crabs live in the holes where the boats sit in drying out moorings, or in the weed attached to the bouyancy foam on the pontoons, cast close 4/5 ft away and you are in the right spot, the reason i use the squid is A its cheap and B it survives crab attacks longer(and you will get crab attacks every cast).last year we pulled 6 bass over 2lb out in under 10 trips, and the bass in the photo was one of them. i really hope you give this a go because it is scorned upon using squid in creeks everyone says rag or crabs but me and my two mates have blown this theory away.c ya

Re: boat trip any mooring in the hamble will do as long as it one that drys out you should find plenty of spots there that you can cast to, just remember to chop up and throw in some groundbait every 45 mins at thet most and maybe a decent load of it ie 3or 4 sduid cut into 5 or 6 pieces each when the tide goes slack at full tide, my mate caught a 4lb one with roughly 8 or 9 bits in so they can munch quite a lot, you are going to love the sport, i use a carp rod and a baitrunner to let them run off with it but none of this is a must a 3lb one will send a beachcaster crazy, i wish you luck , maybe wait till june i as i think that is when they come in most through to o ctober but this is just my theory no one can tell you for fact anything about fishing it is all theorys. good luck mate. i will be doing a trip to risin sun jetty in june with my two mates you are welcome to come along with us i will let you know . c ya

Re: boat trip ben .sorry mate i lied to you. i didnt mean mooring as you will lose your tackle on the anchoring or the rope attached to the bouy.what i meant was the floating pontoons that dry out ,as these form the holes i was talking about, didnt mean to mislead you i was just being thick its been a long day. c.ya
