| Re: Uptider Rod Help Cheers Mike - Little more than I want to spend but as so many forum members have said " GET THE BEST YOU CAN AFFORD " so if it means waiting a few more weeks then so be it Any other uptiders rod guys and girls __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |

| I'm with Mike on this one. Defo Abu Suveran Pro Uptide (I have 2). The handle can be made shorter by a twist of the wrist and is must easier to wind in with. Plus it will handle leads 8ozs to 10ozs which if you are fishing the Bristol Channel a lot more, is definately what you will need |

| Re: Uptider Rod Help What reel will be Ok with the Abu rod for the uptiding? Do you fish with braid or monofil with this rod? Is the Abu rod better than Team Daiwa X Uptide TDXU410? __________________ The monkey evolved into man because it started fishing. Scientific fact! |

| Re: Uptider Rod Help Hi Vlad, The Daiwa rod is far superior in comparison to any other "off the shelf" rod. Braid should not be used for uptiding. Suitable quality reels are the Abu 7000's or Shimano Charter Specials. Obviously there are many other combinations, but for great value for money these are the best. | Hi Vlad, Abu 7000 reel would be perfect match for an uptide rod. Braid is not good for uptiding as the rod will just keep nodding all the time. My pal is a rod designer for Daiwa and he has admitted to me in the recent past that the Abu Suveraun rod is one of the best on the market But hey if you have a Daiwa it is just as good, the fish can't tell the difference anyway, because it's the way you use that counts |

| Re: Uptider Rod Help Thanks Drew and Old Smoothound! Great! I'll stick with the Daiwa. It's my favourite brand anyway, and it's more expensive - to make me feel better :-))) I'll Match it with a Shimano Sp. Ch. 2000. What monofil should I use? For my beachcasting I usually use the Daiwa tournament 18lb fluorescent. Will it be OK for the uptiding as well? I red somewere that for uptiding, one can use a strong fixed spool reel. Can I use my Daiwa Emcast 5500 plus with the Team Daiwa X Uptide TDXU410 rod? What advantage a multiplier would have for uptiding? __________________ The monkey evolved into man because it started fishing. Scientific fact! |

| Re: Uptider Rod Help Uptide fishing with a fixed spool ,if i had a pound for every decent fish i`ve seen lost due to fixed spool reels i`d be a millionaire!.Honestly stick to a multiplier, more control, smoother, less strain on you and the rest of your tackle when retrieving a good fish. The best reel we`ve found is the ABU Ambassadeur 7000HSN ,narrow ideal for mono and well suited for braid. |
