Hi guys, It just aint happening is it? Well we are gonna go and catch some fish tomorrow. No one out there to compete with it seems. Ok all up for it in a months time? Driving test on july 30th mr chappell? Sooooo tide table in front of me, want to go out early for a good days fishing? August the 1st...thats the day. Tide at 7.53am 3.7 mts rising plenty of time for fishing. Do some bassing early on Pole sands, leave when the power boats and jetskis come out and go wrecking, then finish up with some close in stuff off the Orestone Rock maybe? If theres a funny smell on the boat tomorrow I'll know your there in spirit. Stay cool (showing my age) and safe. Jules. YEAH YEAH YEAH I'm going fishing tomorrow __________________ born to fish....forced to work

Re: Bassing round Exmouth & Teignmouth Hi guys this is Jules, How did this thread get a four star rating when all I do is say where I don't catch fish? I been fishing this afternoon.....again. Mat and I had a great time, big motor worked perfectly, loaded up, cast off and began drift 20 yards from mooring along the drop off of the channel upsteam of the bridge. Got some live sandeels so put them on. First cast Mat hooked up a decent fish! Lots of runs later and I promised to knock it off with the net as you do. (bit of a break there as I needed a beer) where was I...Oh yes, My so called mate Mat got a great Bass well over 3 lbs, didn't weigh it till after I'd cleaned it and chopped its head off and it was a shade over 3 then!!! Well I have better mates mr mackeral mat that come out with me and refuse to catch anything before me!! I blanked again! Live sandeels obviously catch a better class of fish but maybe fewer. I'm sure that if I'd used a lure I would at least have caught some mackeral... but maybe not? Again I lost two fish that were sizeable so I will go down the live sandeel route again as it does work. Next tuesday is an early tide and they are definately the best, we're out if you are guys. 10.30 am tide so on the water by 8am out by 12ish. anyone know if the sandeel sellers are open before 8 am? Great day loved it. Enjoy tomorrow Tommy, any problem on a rising tide go into Teignmouth and fish anywhere around the bridge, but be careful when mid tide as it runs fast. Stay safe, love fishing, don't give a **** if I don't catch best regards Jules xx __________________ born to fish....forced to work

Have a good day off tomorrow. Fishing next TuesdaY? oF COURSE. 13th july same as today tide wise but my daughter and freind Harriet are gonna come out with us but won't fish so should be ok. See you soon, Jules. __________________ born to fish....forced to work |

Jules, The results from yesterday : Went out in pretty heavy seas, pretty large ground swell off Sanday Bay but we thought weve got to make the effort at least. After an hour of riding the waves we had four decent makeral on board using feathers. Moved into Pole Sands with the wind freshening and went straight into some decent makeral again - tried Shads, Jelly Worms and Sandeel for some bass but none anywhere. There were four of us and I managed absolutley nothing out of 12 makeral - not even a bite !! Anyway to finish we braved it over to the Galacia in entertaining conditions - good few waves over the bow. The others caught over thirty pout whiting whilst I remained on nought !! Ten minutes from the end - patience is a virtue and all that - I spent ten minutes heaving and grunting and landed a 30LB conger - bloody brilliant fun !! Bigger than last time and very lively - what a way to end and to have your fist catch after five hours !! Probably wont make next Tuesday even though Im in Exmouth all week cause Im on holiday with the wife and she doesnt like fishing much - will hopefully be able to arrange the 1st August and we can have a full day of it. Take care mate Tommy A __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up !

Tommy GREAT NEWS, Fantastic eel well done!! I particularly liked the descriptions of the weather! I think the lack of bass on pole sands this year must be due to the netters I see every time I'm out there.....I wish they would leave some for us sport fishermen. Have a great holiday, wave if you see me out stay safe, Jules __________________ born to fish....forced to work
