Re: Bassing round Exmouth & Teignmouth

Hard to believe isn't it? Even stranger is the fact that it wasn't taken off the bottom. I was reeling in quite fast and it must have been 12 to 15 feet up in the water. The lure was 4 inches long, 1/4 inch deep bar spoon with slight s bend and single trble. plain silver. Must have been a psychopathic dab, surely mental illness isn't reserved for humans? I know the lure must have been that high as I'd just pulled it over a sand bank that falls away very quickly my side. Tasted nice.

Red face Re: Bassing round Exmouth & Teignmouth

Jules,

Will have to let you know whats going on mate. The boat is out of the water and due to go for a second service - water cooling appears fine and the oil levels are good so its a mystery at the moment - hoping its just damp in the wires.

The effect is bad however - we are very unlikely to have anything looked at for a couple of weeks so Im afraid Im not around for this week - unless we have a miracle !!

Im gutted to be honest but will contact you as soon as we are afloat again and raring to go - bloody typical - has ruined the week already and its only Monday .........

Re: Bassing round Exmouth & Teignmouth

Tommy.
sorry to hear about the problems but you probably know by now that a boat is just a hole in the water you try and fill with money!
Luckily no problems for us today, up at 5.30, on the water by 8.30 (I live 20 miles the wrong side of Taunton) stayed out fishing till 6 this evening. Is the sea alive with fish or what! We caught as many mackerel as were ordered by family and friends within a couple of hours and released all the rest after that, they are such good fun on single lures and carp rods, a one pound macky puts a bigger bend in your rod than a ten pound carp! strange but we only had 7 bass which was a bit of a disappointment, all small as well, not one bigger than 2 1/2 pounds. Kept 3 nice eating fish though and looking forward to them.
Next trip planned for a week on sunday but plans may change according to weather and work. 1st week in june looks to have good tides as well.
I am finding it hard to get used to the first trip of the year providing over 200 fish! trust me they nearly all went back in but what a days sport!
Fantastic day with son and friends. Boating and fishing is just the best.
Hope to see you on the water soon.
Regards. Jules. Covered in scales and slime, bring it on.
