| Any ideas where to go? My mate, his Mrs, and myself are planning to go out in his boat (a speedboat, LOL) and try out some offshore fishing. Anyone recommend anywhere? We'l most likely be launching off Teignmouth, and pootle out to open waters somewhere. Any nice points around there? Is it worth heading down the coast toward Torbay for better marks just off a point? Any tips would be cool, as I'm a newbie who is trying to re-discover a bygone passion for sea fishing. ![]() |

| Re: Do many peeps go out boat fishing a lot? I do a bit of boat fishing out of teignmouth, mainly try out for the rough ground for the different species. well, when i say rough ground, i mean a small rock or two about 6 miles out. there are some decent -ish wrecks close in, you will find the galeisha, about 1 1/4 off of the parson and clark. this produces the odd nice fish, mainly pollack bass and conger. the perron, coal boat and bretagne, are only about 5 miles out in between teignmouth and torbay, again this catches quite alot of fish on the quiet, like bass, pollack and the typical wreck fish. apart from the wrecking there are some good bass marks around the coast, budleigh only takes half an hour from t/mouth and this catches lots of bass in the summer. the same goes for hopes nose, there are several marks around the rocks where you can hook into double figure bass. __________________ Nothing grows faster than a fish from when it bites until it gets away. |

Ideally I don't want to be going miles out in a speedboat though... Especially as this is quite a small (and a little unreliable) one. Just looking for somewhere a short burn from Teignmouth, probably no more than a half a mile out, but ideally just somewhere off a point thats nice for general fishing (nothing too specialist like wrecking - I'll save that for chartering trips) |

| Re: Do many peeps go out boat fishing a lot? Jeezzus. kind of glad you guys aren't giving anything away......there are some very prolific grounds out of Teignmouth. We don't post them up for everyone ie commercial guys to see. you want some places to fish PM me and maybe you can come out and follow for a day. There are areas very close that can produce big bass but we kind of keep them to ourselves.....as I said PM me and maybe we can talk. Cheers Jules __________________ born to fish....forced to work |
