Swansea Bass Attack - Dominator Charter

Hey guys have started a new thread to get the port name in the title!
THe skipper of Dominator has just called to say that he has a perfect 38ft tide avaliable on June 5th which I believe is a Sunday.
The mackerel wont be in by then up here BUT this poses no problem because the bream are already shoaling - they had a dozen good fish yesterday and the bass are already on the feed aswell.
Cost of the boat is £180 and it takes 6 people.

The only other good weekend tides he has available are in August. NOtably the 6th and 7th. He has however got plenty of weekday tides in june and july which are suitable.

I have told him I will call back tomorrow and book something with him so now really want to know what everyone else thinks?
Who would be interested? Is June 5th too short notice? Was I right in thinking weekends are better for everyone? Post your replies and we can arrange something concrete this evening!

Re: Swansea Bass Attack - Dominator Charter

OK excellent. I will get in touch with Tommy A and Old Smoothhound now aswell coz I know they were both almost certain on this - just waitin for a date to go by.

If I have 4 definates I will go ahead and book today so that we dont lose that date aswell! he said the tide is perfect for drifting. The bream fishing will be done over the reef using worm baits. Live Sandeel will pick up some big bass over these reefs aswell but for numbers of bass we will head to the sandbanks between Oxwich Point and Worms Head!

Re: Swansea Bass Attack - Dominator Charter

Ok Guys this trip is temporarily full. Am awaiting full confirmation but the preliminary list is

Juan Pablo
Fishing Forum Admin - Richard
Old Smoothhound
Tommy A
Tommy A's Dad or Shads

The boat does take 1 more angler but following the wise advise of Old Smoothie I have decided that we need that extra space to swing all MY fish in ;-)
If any of the above drop out I will update this thread immediately. I will be booking this afternoon as soon as Old Smoothie and Tommy have rung me back.

Re: Swansea Bass Attack - Dominator Charter

Ok guys this boat is booked.
Final list is as follows;

Juan Pablo
Richard
Old Smoothhound
Tommy A
Shads

Still to confirm: Wellyfish (Old Smoothie has got intouch I believe)

Total cost of the boat for our 8hr trip is £180. Basing individual costs on 6 people that comes in at £30 each. If you require tackle hire the skipper charges £5 per person but must know in advance so please notify me asap.

Can those who are in the list above please PM me when you are next online and I will provide you with my address for your cheque to be sent. The deposit will be £15 per person. If for any reason you drop out and we can find a replacement in time your deposit will be fully refunded. If we are unable to fill your space Im afraid you will lose the deposit.
If the skipper calls the trip off all deposits will be refunded or another date will be arranged. If we call the trip off we will lose all deposits.

I am awaiting an email from Wayne regarding what end tackle we should bring along and to find out what time we are sailing in the morning. For a map and directions once you leave the M4 please take a look at this page http://www.dominatorfishing.co.uk/html/directions.html
As far as bait is concerned I think it would be easier to let the skipper arrange the live sandeels for the bass and for us to bring any other baits ourselves - let me know how you feel about this? I have once again asked the skipper what bait arrangements are so will update you all as soon as I know more.

And finally just to wet your appetites the black bream are already shoaling - they caught a dozen nice bream during slack water yesterday. The mackerel will NOT be here that early in june so please be aware if you would like to use mackerel you will need to bring it along with you. The bass are also showing over the banks and soon over the reefs aswell. The skipper has picked the tide himself - he is confident that we will achieve our goals of good bass and bream fishing!

Im really sorry for anybody who wanted to attend - the boat is a 25ft Arvor and only fishes a maximum of 6 people. If anybody drops out an offer will be made to anybody who wants to fill the space.

I think thats everything for now - please let me know if I have missed anything out!

John.
