this weekend

weather permiting this weekend i should be going out with my mate on his rib fishing
i think the plan is to just drift with mackerel feathers but it should be good fun, its got over 100hp of power in the back of it, my only concern is the inflatable outer and the rate which is uses fuel, aparently you can get to the isle of wight and back but not much further on a full tank
any other surgestions on what to do other than feathers? while drifting

thanks, any1 know if its ok to use a beach rod from a boat?
i kinda said i had enoguh tackle but then realised i have enough reels but only 1 rod

the best advise that i can offer you is

DON'T GO FISHING IN A RIB

the tube is there for a reason, if you are going to go use a boat rod.

Ben ive done loads of fishing out of ribs mate and you ll be fine.
We use ribs a lot when diving and ive pulled alll sorts of rusty objects over the tubes in them ,there very tough.
Why not anchor up somewhere and fish on the bottom with one rod and take a light spinning rod aswell?

i asked him about anchoring up but he said no with some long winded reason (i switched off after he said no)
