I just went to buy some 20lb line but they only had 20lb shock leader. Is there any reason why i cant fit shock leader to the whole reel??

Re: Shock leader only!!

20lb Is No Good As Shock Leader Mate You Should Be Using A Minimum Of 40lb But 50 Is Better .
I Think The Old Rule Of 10lb Per I Ounce Of Lead Is Safe

I'm not sure if that was the question asked?

Was Rob not asking if he could use it as a mainline (as it's labeled shockleader)...

I maybe wrong

Re: Shock leader only!!

Shockleader does stretch more than standard mono but I don't see why this would be a problem.

Thumbs down Re: Shock leader only!!

Shock leader is normally sold in smaller spools with only 50 or 100m on the spool. It also tends to be stiffer (if you buy good quality shock leader that is) than normal mainline as well as having lots of memory.
It would not be my choice for casting.
