What Reel

Would like some views on the following

I want to get a new boat reel and not sure which one to get. I have got 3 small abu's (all 6500's) all love them to bits, so my next one hopefully will be an abu, but which one? BG7000 LD or BG10000.

If i had the money and my wife would let me i would have both

Most of the time will be spent around the solent but with a few trips around Cornwall, with 25 - 30lb line.

Re: What Reel

Hi Allmad,

Like yourself, I am an Abu fanatic.

I have the 7000C3 and the 7500C3 with extra spools and more than happy with both. I use them for downtiding as well as uptiding, and occasionally beachcasting.

For heavier work (Conger and Ling) I use the Shimano TLD 20.

Unfortunately only you can decide on the reel that you want, we all have our favourites and will tell you that these are the best, but as I have said you must make up your own mind.

Cheers

Drew

With four Abu's in the stable I'm a fan, three are years old the last a BG 10000 is rubbish, under a year old. All Abu's are now made in Tiwan and they haven't got it right yet.

So go with Richards advice.
