Re: What rigs and weights are best for place fishing?

Baited spoon rig worked well for me last year. I generally use about 6 feet of mono trace from braided main line to the spoon and then about 6 inches of mono from the spoon to the hook. I generally use a size 2 hook.

Watch leads work well as they sit flat on the sea bed and disturb the sand as you drift attracting the attention of the Plaice. This is usually rigged where braid and trace attach with a zip slider. Add beads to hook length too.

I think Downsouth has said it all in one swoop. great, saves me adding any more.
However.... I'm gonna try some of them rattling silver beads this time.
If I go out later I'll pick some up and post them on here if your not sure what I mean.

I've done a few Smoothie wishbones with nice coloured beads, sequins and size 1 and 2 hooks. Might try to make a few running legers with spoons as well.

Is Skerries squid any different to other squid then? Looks like a trip to Veals at lunchtime again (spent £40 there last week as well, this trip isn't cheap!!!).

It's much larger and very very white when skinned, pre skinned for you in the packet. You can then cut long and thin slithers for the hook prime bait mate.

I think £1.90 each, but not sure.
