| Couple of hours couple of Cod Hate knowing the night before I am going fishing...always wake up too early, like an excited kid in anticipation of opening presents on Christmas day, nearly 46yrs old and can't shake the feeling. There was something in the air though, a new adventure for Captain Chaos to seek out, a new fishing buddy with a boat that made mine look very small and inadequate. ( a bit like something else actually I can think of, that doesnt seem to get much use these days...lol.  )Got to Newhaven at rediculous oclock, fortunately to find the local cafe open..ahhhh, breakfast. Later I met a guy called Andy, top bloke who used to write articles for angling magazines, mainly course. Andy invited me out on a Cod trip early next year, pending Doctors approvals and possible surgery this year, poor bloke is in a terrible two and eight and such a lovely guy. exchanged telephone numbers and met up with the skipper of " O Jolly " 25ft Osprey, lovely tub. Gary, skipper of O Jolly invited Andy and myself for a brew and a bit later we decided that we would do a couple of hours at sea. Andy a bit weary decided to err on the side of caution as he was not feeling too puka.(after Garys coffee probably). I couldnt blame him, I was nursing a vino hangover as usual on a Saturday morning. I just usually agree to anything to keep the peace. Once the port of Newhaven numpties decided that it was safe for us to go forth, we went fourth. (if a little boats coming in the harbour you can't go out). It was a tad lumpy bumpy but the vessel we was in could of handled well in access of double that was being thrown at us, I just love it, theres nothing more exhilerating. I got my first Cod within minutes of dropping anchor, then Gary had a nice plump Cod, then I had a nice plump whiting. About half an hour later I had another Cod. Three Cod between us...Happy days. Whilst all this action had prevailed the boat was sitting nastily, nearly broadside on, so a couple hours stolen for fishing.........Heaven.
