Hello new to forum and need advice

Hi
New to forum and taking up boat fishing, I have in the past fished off Hartlepool (long time ago) so have the usual bag of jiggers, Muppets etc in the shed but I now live Near Berwick-upon-Tweed and was wondering if any members are fishing that area. I am unsure what tackle to buy (including rods and reels) and what sort of fishing they do from the charter boats if any work this area. Any advice would be welcome and please class me as a beginner as I have not fished for a lot of years then it was just the odd trip.
Shaun

hi shaun,
welcome to the forum, there are a few boat anglers on the site, no doubt they will be able to assist you in you quest for new equipment, dunno if any come from your area, do you have any indication as to what is being caught around your vicinity ?

Re: Hello new to forum and need advice

try looking here for some local boats mate .. as far as im aware pirking for cod and pollack is still the main way of fishing so you probably just need to upgrade to braid instead of mono and get a decent lever drag reel and newer lighter rod .. not a great deal has changed except for more bling and more cost lol !

Re: Hello new to forum and need advice

Sorry for the late reply as I have been away. Thanks for the advice I have found a local lad that organises boat trips so should be OK come April. I think I will dig out my old beach fishing gear to see me through untill then.
