| sunning ourselves in the channel got back a couple of hours ago from our day on royal charlotte we boarded the boat at about 0800 and immeadiately steamed out to the varne bank,this is a famous sand bank about 10 miles off dover  dover from the varne the tactics were to drift across the bank and to target the codling well we did get codling but not many of them, we did get loads of mackies and whiting with a few gurnard thrown in,  for pointsi also got a scad for more points  late in the day i reeled in a tiddler that i thought was a poor cod  i am not 100% on identification,what do you guys think ended up with a nice little mixed bag but a little disappointed that nothing big came out  great boat and skipper will recommend to anyone, thanks jason and christine you were great company Last edited by fishypaul; 08-01-2011 at 09:04 PM.     |
