Sea sickness My neighbour is taking me on a fishing trip on his boat in the Bristol channel in the week. I usually prefer to keep my feet on solid land and fish for pike but fancied the challenge of catching something different and the words CONGER EEL settled it for me!! The last time I went out on a boat for the day from Weymouth which was a bit of a wasted trip as all I caught was mackerel (free pike bait anyway) I was really sick. Does anyone know any old wives tales to beat this terrible feeling?

Re: Sea sickness I heard ginger! Ginger biscuits are meant to do the trick. Sucking a boiled sweet helps as well. J __________________ ><((((º>`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸.·´¯`·...¸><((((º>¸. ·´¯`·.¸.·´¯`·.. ><((((º>`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸.·´¯`·...¸><((((º>

Re: Sea sickness All my uncles were either trawlermen or deep sea cargo men. When I was 21 I decided to go to sea. Talking to my uncle Ken before I sailed for Archangel in Russia, I asked him for a cure for sea sickness, should I get it. No probs he said. "Dry Cubes of Bread" (proper bread not putty bread as he called sliced). The weather was horendous going around the top of Norway and I started to feel queezy, so I tried his tip and amaizingly it worked. Never had a problem since.

Re: Sea sickness Thanks for all the advice guys. I brought some Stugeron from the chemist yesterday and took the recommended dosage. All was well untill the weather turned this afternoon and it all got a bit choppy which resulted in me hanging over the side of the boat and being reaquainted with my lunch!! Managed to break the mackerel curse though and caught a nice Thorn Back, my neighbour who owns the boat caught 5 small congers and a nice bass, he must have had the lucky side of the boat! I've come to the conclusion that I am made to keep my feet on dry land, the only time I want to be seen in a boat is in Chew Valley hunting a 30lb pike ![]() I enjoyed the sea fishing and am considering dusting off the beach caster and heading to the north somerset coast, does anyone fish Bossington or any beaches round that way?
