A cracking day !!! and a lifetime first

We were booked on "Viking" out of Penzance and you get on the boat outside the Cafe 8-)

We steamed towards Lands End and stopped to get some Mackeral for bait and first drop down I had a small Haddock , which I haven't had since I fished Ireland about 12 years ago , said to the skipper I want a Photo for thr forum and he said wait until we get to the deep water mark because they are bigger and they were:


on the next mark we were after Gurnards and I managed to get 3 out of 4
Tub

Red

and Grey


In amongst the Gurnard we had a few of these:
Brill

and some of these:
Cuckoo Wrasse


Saved the best till last I was down in the cabin using the Loo when the skipper shouted that I had a fish on came up and reeled in this:
Cuckoo Ray


Its the first one I have ever caught and the first one on the boat for about 15 years, so all in all a very good day afloat.

Well done on the ray, not that I know anything about sea fish but if one hasnt been on board for 15 years then it must be some acheivment !

Menspants certainly produced the goods there mate .. I never knew there was a decent charter for their so might have to check it out when i'm down ..
