| Whats being caught from the boats I am fishing out of Penarth at the end of this month on board Chara can anybody update me as to what is being caught and their favourite bait please?? I am new to this site and have only boat fished from the south east of England or out of Paignton Devon. My trip is with my son for 2 days and he has never boat fished in his life!! Many thanks      |

| Re: Whats being caught from the boats Welcome to the forum ....  Summer fishing will be in full swing out of Penarth .... Smoothounds , on whole squid or ideally peeler crab Thornback ,Blonde ,Spotted and Small Eyed Rays,Conger,Bull Huss,Dogfish , on whole squid ,mackerel and bluey baits Ocasional Bass put in an apperance If your taking your own gear ,fish uptide ,and 8oz Gemini leads are essential ,keep the end gear simple ,plain running leger ,3ft traces of 60lb mono with 4/0 pennels. | Re: Whats being caught from the boats Thanks for that peelers are about 50p each here in Kent and I can get Blueys online for £1.75 per pack and whole Squid for about £3 a box. I am staying at the Sky Plaza hotel in Barry and will be there from Wednesday to Friday am bringing cool box and plenty of ice packs!!! |
