Re: Boat comp

Hi mtnet.

I'd love to have a small boat comp and i think Tommy would too. Do you have to restrict it to the Thames? If we operate on an honesty policy I did put forward an idea we do one nationwide last year but no takers.

Someone on the forum sent me some paperwork and it seemed very staightforward. The captain fills in a form saying what was caught by each angler (2 nominated and named for the year per boat, I guess we can choose a figure to suit ourselves) 1 day per month nominated as the day fishing for the comp so we can all choose different days. Forms sent , obviously to you as offering to organise, to keep score and post on forum at end of each month.

Fancy it?
Go on you know you do.

Cheers ....Jules.

Will look on earlier threads to see if I can find who sent me stuff last year or may be able to find it on Nimue next outing.

Re: Boat comp

i'm up for it,i'm sure it can be done,
i don't think a nationwide comp would be a problem, an honesty policy does work

we trust each other for the species comp don't we.

Re: Boat comp

Exactly....I'll try and find paperwork.

I'm terribly sorry I can't remember who it was who sent me loads of stuff on how to do it last year but if your still reading.....Please...Pretty please....but send it to mtnet. Sounds like the guy I want to be in competition against!

I bet Tommy gets on here soon, best tell him it's not just the thames though.

I'll pm him. and maybe Fluff. Has shaun got a boat yet?

Cheers, jules

Re: Boat comp

Hey guys
i suggested the Thames to see what the responce would be. I think that if we were to make the compertition over say four trips it would give a wider scope of anglers the chance to fish it. There would have to be fixed venues to give everybody a fair chance but they could be fished at a time suitable to the individual. If this sounds OK then let me know and we can get on with the finer details..

Re: Boat comp

Tommy....OK you won hands down on the day , don't know if Nick is still around, Probably into girls or some such bloody rubbish .

MTNET, The beauty of the competition rules I read last year are that we don't have to live in the same area or fish in the same area....We decide on how many fishing days there are and how many fish each boat, send in which days you are going to fish to the competition rules, the captain fills in the form and sends it in to you as the organiser and you post up results at the end of each month.

My suggestion is 1 or 2 (prefer 2) days per calendar month from April to december this year to give us a chance to organise it? How many named people to count per boat and how many rods per person, hooks per rod? Might be getting a bit silly as I have a mackerel rig with 8 tiny squid on it......is it banned.....maybe 2 named people per boat....2 rods each....whatever they want to fish with.. The rules as I read them last year gave max points for first two fish of a species then nothing so you can't catch a thousand mackeral and win.

Ideas Guys...it's your comp as well as mine (can't get down to Nimue for a couple weeks to find that vital set of rules) Tommy, did I give you a set?

If not we just need to decide on points per species of fish. I think a million for mackeral to get us all off to a head start.....couple for boring old blue shark
Etc Etc

Ok put in my twopennyworth, if your interested in doing it this way we just need to argue about points per species of fish as that will differ across the country ie how easy they are to catch.

Look forward to replies as there are a few of us interested in doing this.

Maybe we should start a new thread as this has now widened it's appeal I think....or hope!

Hope this helps...kindest regards...Jules. Nimue.
