favorite hook

being new here I have looked through a lot of the old posts but can't find a lot of info about your favorite gear.

a memorable thread on anchors (sort of hooks for boats I suppose) was th closest I got, although reference to the Kamsan 940 is made somewhere.

as boat anglers what is your regular bait fishing hook?

personally I now use this for just about all my bait fishing, and in the same size as shown (it is listed as a 10/0 but comes up around a 4/0 3261BLN)



my reson is that I can fish for just about anything with it and, as it only hooks in the mouth I stand a good chance of landing the odd tope/conger with even quite light mono snoods (OK 30/40 lb but not 200!).

OOOh circle hook. Read a lot about them and do want to try them but not got round to it yet. Do you find you get as many hook ups?

I have so many hooks it will be a while before I need to buy more but am interested in what you guys think about them.

Hi, looks like an Owner hook to me? I use them most of the time. They are useless for Jellies and most "plastic"? lures.

I was only reading about circle hooks last night in sea angler,are they any good,it says you dont strike with them.

i have used them afew times,a caught afew fish on them, and yes, the fish did get hooked in the corner of the motuh without me having to do anything, but i also missed alot of bites by not striking
even a big slimy ell was hooked properly
