Any ideas for the format for this year's competition???

I reckon it would be good to get names from everyone who's up for it. Then we book boats ideally on the same day. Say we have enough people for 4 boats, say 1 in the west country, 1 portsmouth, 1 up north and 1 in Scotland (this is just an example).

Then the top 2 anglers on each boat fish against each other on the 'Final Boat'.

So, who's got any suggestions?

I think we should have an entry fee which is payable with your boat payment which should be the full amount - this means that if somebody doesn't show and a replacement can't be found the rest on the boat don't burden the cost.

I reckon £10 per head entry fee would mean we could have a few different prizes, like biggest fish of the event, most species, biggest fish on each boat, overall winner etc.

I also think some time in the summer would be best as people might want to make a weekend of it and good weather always helps.

We can do a points system so all can get involved in the boat comp including the small boat boys

So names and ideas and lets sort it out and have a great days fishing

Yeah..include the small boat boys...we wanna be part of it. Like a comp and willing to put up the fee. Only trouble for me is tides. Can't go out just any day. But wanna be part of it. If proof of catches is by photo then that will also be a problem as I can't seem to upload photo's anymore.
Looking forward to the rules...and looking forward to going fishing this year.....gotta be better than last year now pair trawlers are banned 12 miles offshore.

Yep count me and my lot in on Thomas Harold. We can meet up with Jules and fish the same day etc.( safety in numbers ) and Jules Im happy to lend you a camera for the day and then upload the photos - if you have any !

Also Jules we can fish the whole tide in and out - so maybe stay out for 10 hours and make the most of it.

Let us know the rules and regs chaps - cannot wait to get out in the boat!

Thanks for the response guys.

I reckon the best way to do this is to have a number of people organising each boat. I'm happy to arrange the South coast boat. Can we have a volunteer to organise the West country boat please (Paul Lingham, Nigel, Kev, Martin, stand up and be counted!!!). I'm confident that we'll have 2 boats full quite easily and that's why I've mentioned these two locals. If you are from another area and think there are enough similarly located anglers please let me know.

Can we also have a volunteer to organise the small/private boat section. I'm kinda thinking that depending on how many want to take part, we have the top angler from each one competing in the final on a charter boat withthe others - but suggestions very much appreciated.

I think we'll have to book up boats kinda sharpish, so please PM me or post a reply if you'd like to participate - it will be competitive but it will also be a great laugh and a mixture of prizes will mean that EVERYBODY stands a chance of winning something!!!

Also - what rules do you wanna play?
