Re: Advise

Hi Dory,

Like yourself I too have a camper. Are you a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club? They have a number of Temporary Holiday sites in and around Weymouth - Burton Bradstock area, around £6 per night. I use them each year. If you want more information please PM me with a phone number and I will contact you.

Cheers

Re: Advise

Hi Dory,

Yeah I used to fish the weymouth and Portland area with my boat and good fishing it was.
Good cheap slip at Ferrybridge, Portland Bill, can't miss it big boatyard on left as you hit the causeway. Good fishing in Portland harbour if the wind gets up. If you can get out and have a sounder Grove Point is good for some big wrasse. Shambles for plaice and turbut but watch the currents don't go further than 02.20w on the ebb. Near the shambles is a wreck (the Elanor R 50.30.21n...02.20.72w) Drift for bass and pollack or anchor for good conger.
Not giving any more secrets on the forum but pm me if you want to know more.

Welcome and good luck, Jules.

Re: Advise

The whole coastline between Poole and Weymouth is fantastic fishing at that time of the year (well anytime except Feb/March!) but small boat slips will get very busy weekends and holidays, and campsites expensive and full! On the other hand midweek and outside the holiday tend to get better weather....
Would have thought it worth your while making arrangements to fish in company if you can, opens the horizon a bit - plenty of small boat clubs in the area.
