Re: Help i need a boat rod

Hi Bobby,

As you see from the above posts we all have our favourites. That is what the Forum is all about. 100% better than any magazine. The only good information in the magazines are the advertisements and tide times, "The Trading Post" in the Sea Angler can be beneficial for something that appeals.

At the very least you can get an honest opinion from the Forum (most of the time) and it gives you a general choice of what to go for.

Some of our younger members, on a limited budget, start out, on what they can afford and then progress to what they 'really really want'. We all had to start out with the simplest of equipment, unless "Daddy" had a bottomless pocket. But most of us have all been through it.

Cheers

Re: Help i need a boat rod

Hey Bobby welcome! Once youv'e decided which Rod would suit you why don't you save yourself some cash and get it on ebay. I managed to get Hubby some sea fishing gear ( with the wonderfful help and advice from the guys on the forum) and saved a wee fortune! I got a red Abu 7000 reel for about £35 which is a saving of about £70 to £90!

Hi Hoggy,

I've done a google and yahoo search for Diawa TDX and apart from comments on forums as to how good they are - I can't find one for sale in tackle stores etc.

Is this rod still in production or am I just looking in the wrong places ?

How much does this rod cost and from whom can I buy?

Hi Fluff,

TDXB 1220, 2030, 2050,

Yes it is still in production after all these years and it is as good as when it was first introduced.

Log onto www.poingdestres.co.uk or www.daiwasports.co.uk

Hi John,

Just found TDXU at Poin---- at £122 for uptider SEE HERE

As I always buy 2 of everything (can't av Doreen saying I catch more because I've got better tackle ) So, a bit too expensive till we know if we like the boat etc.

Thinking of a Bravura or somebody mentioned here an Ugly I think - I'll have to look back.

Cheers
