Post Bass Fishing - North Devon

Hi Guy's,

A popular species on this forum are Bass. I have a possibility of chartering a very successful Bass Fishing boat out of Clovelly near Bideford for August 9th which is a Tuesday.

The maximum number of Anglers is 6 and I already have 3 names that are interested in going which obviously includes me.

The main species for the day would be Bass, however, we will be fishing in some very shallow water and if the wind is too high we will not be able to fish it as it becomes too dangerous and general species fishing will be the order of the day. General species are.....Rays, Pollock, Conger, Black Bream, Trigger fish and so on, we may even catch some Bass.

The cost of the boat is £200 for the day. Methods include plugging and spinning for Bass and only deadbaits are used. People who have not used plugs or spinners would find it very difficult as accuracy is all important. Only 4 people may plug or spin at any one time...but we would take it turns on a rota system so all would have a fair go at plugging etc.

So any one that are interested please PM me asap as it will be on a first come first served basis.

Bass catches were exceptional there last year. Not all Bass are killed and a quota to take home is in force for conservation reasons.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Post Re: Bass Fishing - North Devon

Thanks to the people who PM'd me...the boat is now full as there is only space for 6 people.

Those going are as follows:

Old Smoothound
Richard
KiwiMarty
Wellyfish
TommyA
Shads or TommyA's Dad

I will need deposits soon, so I will PM you.

Its a 50% deposit. If we cancel the boat we loose it, if the skipper cancels the boat we get our deposit back.

All monies must be paid in advance. If someone drops out we will offer their place to someone else and the person who has dropped out will get their money back. If the place cannot be filled, there is no refund.

I believe that's a fair way of conducting the trip, as I don't want anyone to loose out and have to pay more if someone cannot go.

For those who want to know where it is, it is on the A39 from Bideford and Barnstaple.

Clovelly Click Here

Just pray for light winds on the day

More info to follow as we get nearer the time...methods bait rods etc.

Cool Re: Bass Fishing - North Devon

Hi Guys,

Just confirmed with the skipper for 9th August. Would the people listed below please send me a PM and I will give you my address to send your deposits.

The boat is £200 so the deposit required is £17 each. The other £16.70 will be required later on.

Here's to screaming reels and leaping Bass

Shaun
