| Hi folks, I got talking to Dave skipper of Gemini 2, during our last very successful trip out with him on the 7th Feb, regarding Plaice fishing on the sand banks (Skerries) just a few miles (approx 4) out from Dartmouth. He has a date available for the 4th May, which at the moment, I have first offer on. The price of the boat would be £270 for the day and I would be expecting to place 6-8 anglers on board. So if 6 went the price would be £45pp or if 8 went the cost would come down to £33.75pp. Bait would not be included and this would be 2lb or so of rag and a couple of boxes of squid divided between all anglers. This style of fishing is very light. Even carp rods can be used with mono being around the 12lb mark (sorry no braid), so there would be no heavy weights being brought up from deep water!! At this stage all I want is a list of people who are interested. There are 3 confirmed already with a fourth person as a maybe. Please take in consideration, that this is a midweek (Wednesday) trip before you reply or pm me. Cheers. Kiwi. __________________ Kia ora / Dia dhuit. - Matauranga kei ana kaha. | Re: Gemini 2 Plaice Fishing 04/05/2005 Good question, why is it, the further west you go the less popular braid is on the drift? __________________ Poor prep= Pathetic Performance |

| Re: Gemini 2 Plaice Fishing 04/05/2005 The drift will be across sharp shingle and basically braid cant stand up to it and rods are placed against the rail of the boat to watch the tips……braid is too sensitive to do this, limiting actual bite detection. | Re: Gemini 2 Plaice Fishing 04/05/2005 Absolutely right kiwi, Can you image the rod tip as the weight bumps, jumps and drags across all those shells, shingle and those big fat PLAICE heads. It would be an absolute nightmare, did you put my name down by the way? |

| Re: Gemini 2 Plaice Fishing 04/05/2005 Got to say something here, i love useing braid drifting for plaice, yes your tip moves with the shingle but when you get a bite it shows up like hell. Its whatever your happy with using. Iv never had the braid damaged either drifting and thats 22lb whiplash. |
