| Not Saltwater Fishing, but Freshwater. Fitting a fish Finder. I am looking to install a fish finder to my float tube. Not as a fish finder really, but to use as a depth finder to search out features etc. Now here is my problem. You can get a fish finder that is half designed for the purpose (http://2b-kayaking.com/pro1367533.html), but too me it looks to simple for the money that they are looking for it. As you can see from the link the transducer is fixed to a pole which is connected to VDU. So what i really want to know is, Can i modify a sonar such as the Garmin 140 (https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=344) so as it ends up something similiar to the fishin' buddy to suit my float tube? The main problem is the transducer, i assume i will need to mount it to a piece of dowel or a pipe of some description as i cant see it being too accurate if it is swinging about below the tube.. ![]() Thanks Justin __________________ Copyright © All Rights Reserved. | Re: Not Saltwater Fishing, but Freshwater. Fitting a fish Finder. Its funny you say that! Dad is bringing me home the underwater camera from work, cant wait for that! they use it for closing the dry dock gates but they dont use it too often. That should be interesting on the tube! __________________ Copyright © All Rights Reserved.
