Well sorry for the late report - last Thursdays trip was completely ruined by the Easterly winds so we only really fished feathers off the back round Sandy Bay - no makeral although both my old man and mate had fish on only for them to fall off - however there were absolutely stacks and stacks of what I would asume were sandeel and launce shoals - the fish finder and colour on it were stunning as huge shoals were showing clearly over the sandy areas. Ive heard of people saying they could see shoals clearly on their finder but until then I hadnt believed this in such a clear format - there were literally shoal after shoal - alass the easterly winds I think had driven the makeral off a bit deeper - just as they were on their way in !!! Still after an two hours of rolling up and down 10 - 14ft waves we came back into the estuary to fish the channel for the odd bass - feeling a bit grim ! No bass but plenty of crabs to strip the bait ! All good fun and hopefully the next trip in the next week or 10 days will allow us to get out with muppets, makeral baits, worms and sidewinders so we can eventually catch something to keep the women happy ! __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |

| Re: Makeral off Exmouth yet ? Baggie - Literally right off the point of the firing range and where the old channel bouy used to be situated - before it was moved. Not that far off shore at all so I would hope the makeral wont be too far behind although we could with the water warming up !
