Bream & Bass - Lyme Bay ?

Anyone know when the bream start showing on the inshore wrecks off Lyme Bay and the bass ?

Just read on another Forum of some Bream caught off Christchurch & Bournemouth last weekend Good fish too...

The larger bream tend to colonise the wrecks later in the season but most boats from Weymouth will be targeting bream along the coast on the inshore rough ground marks to the east..Boats from Poole will be fishing the area around Christchurch ledges ..From my experience of Bassing trips the same applies - we tend to go after the bass around the shambles and on the edge of Portland race from June and hit the offshore wrecks to the west with live eels and joey mackerel from end of July right through to October.
This time of year and into May we target huge Cod on pirks on the neaps and double figure Pollack on the bigger tides which occasionaly throws up the odd bass and anchoring the wreck has produced black bream of nearly 5lb that have straightened hooks on us !

This week of nice weather will have helped no end and i for one can't wait to get at the bream ..

love catching bream myself , fantastic on a waggler ,OOOOPS wrong type



we were catching them as late as December down this way , like stated June is when they really get up here in an abundance (sea bream that is )

I was out on a Bream hunt last Saturday and along with at least 6 other boats fishing alongside us, we all blanked.
