| Ling Wanted to get a few ling on the boat as Ive never had one - I know quite a few are caught at this time of year when out after the pollack but wanted to know should we be targeting them on a neap tide with the congers - congers at anchor and slow drifting for ling OR should we be aiming for them whilst pollacking and using some makeral baits ? __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |

| Re: Ling Small tides mate, they normally show up on Conger trips or when we've been after Cod on the Wrecks ( my pb is 25lb exact ) Best method is either a mackerel fillet cut in half lengthways and fished off a tubi boom with nylon trace of 100lb to a 6 or 8/0 O'Shaughnessy hook or my prefered methods of either a baited pirk or the mackerel method above but always add flouro muppets to the rig as Ling seem to go daft for them. | Re: Ling Exactly as Steve said. BYW, They taste gorgeous with a firmer texture than cod. More like Monkfish. My Mrs pan fried small fillets in a pan that had just been used for bacon. BEEEAUUUTIFULL! ![]() __________________ I am in shape. ROUND is a shape! |
