Monday 15th - Fun but no cigar !!!!

Got out eventually on our new boat yesterday and steamed 20 miles down to Lyme Bay ( only an hour )and fished a wreck only about 8 miles off that shoreline - not really excpecting much as we werent out in the middle of the ocean. We located the wreck mastered the art of drifting her very well and although there were clear fish at both the front and end of the wreck in the tides we only managed a few clonking bites but no takers.

A shame really but given its our first proper trip out with new sounder etc it was brilliant - sunshine and calm seas followed by breakfast cooked onboard and a really top day - saw a shoal of fish on the surface on the way back going mad but not too sure what !

Looking for the makeral to return soon then we can get out after the conger and ling on some deeper wrecks with some fresh bait - happy days - the fish will come soon !

Tanked down there at a steady 22knots on a flat day - beautiful I tell you but wont be so fast on a slight swell !!!

Makes my 7.5knots look silly......you will be sking off her in the summer then?
