pump the boat out! how much rain have we had this week! just pumped the boat out today took me ages (hand bilge pump) might have to invest in a 12v jobby. thought i'd see if i could catch some mullet whilst down the harbour, no chance in getting out in boat for a while...mullet didn't want to play the game, chose bread as bait, should have been redrag maybe? Any mullet fisherman out there for tips? There are some awesome sized mothers in there! Gave me the excuse to try out a new reel, hee hee!

Re: pump the boat out! ummm, if your beach or harbour fishing, you will have to give the hotpipe at shoreham ago, behind the power station as you travel west from east heading through Hove, take the lower road and keep going until you get to the end, you can park there.also cafe on beach. very good bassing spot from early season.plugs or bait.fishing off of hotpipe( if space). if too crowded then plenty of space on east arm of shoreham harbour.top bait is rag worm, which you can dig in the lower reaches of the river, not too far up as it is not permitted, bailffs are hot in this area.Ive been asked three times for rod licence fishing the upper reaches. Brighton Marina, east arm, got snapped up there using live prawn, its not uncommon, nearly took rod and reel for swim! I am originally brightonian, i was p*ssed off when they started charging for fishing there, when owned by the council one of the attractions was anybody from Brighton could fish for free, now privately owned,(good for the community, not). you gotta try a dexter where i mentioned at Newhaven, June / July, top sport can be had. TIGHT LINES! ![]()

Re: pump the boat out! Yes Carats Cafe, couldn't remember the name, I Don't think many people call it plugging these days....showing my age. Exactly like spinning, artificial lures, ie rapala's which is a fish shaped lure and is deadly for bass, cod and pollack.

Re: pump the boat out! Def worth a crack, especially from the shore over the rocks, if using a dexter there do not let it sink, you will get snagged.
