| Re: whats the crack with braid? Captain Chaos, I felt a bit of a chump going on about the difficulties I was having on the beach before I relaised that I was in the boat forum and that the original query would be about its use on a boat with a mutiplier. As Full Creel suggests, I use a Fixed Spool from the beach. I only use it when I'm going for distance, so usually feathering for mackerell or bait casting with a 6oz lead and bait. I found it goes a long way, but I'm really struggling with not losing terminal tackle through failure of the leader knot. I have been trying to tie Berkely Whiplash 20lb to 60lb Shock Leader. But I have just bought some tapered leader so see how I get on with that. All tips and advice gratefully received, especially with regard to knot choice. Ben Lee, are you sugesting that it helps to slightly underfill the spool? Regards and tight lines, Nick |
