| rutilus hi all,can anybody please advise,i havent been sea boat fishing in a long time,and as i like to fish quite light gear how much less lead will i need if i use say 30lbs.dyneema instead of mono? i hope to lure fish using a 4 oz baitcasrer type rod or carp gear.many thanks in advance for any replies. |

| Re: rutilus If you are fishing light gear inshore the braid will make very little if and difference at all unless you were using mono 30lb or over. Move into deeper water and the tide will have an effect on thicker mono causing it to bow . I only use 28lb dynon for wrecking and have never fished any heavier so if your looking for light tackle fishing on something like a baitcaster you will be better off with braid around 15lb combined with a rubbing leader of about 20ft of 20lb clear mono. Depending on the tide you should be able to fish and hold bottom with leads as little as 2 ounces . Steve __________________ Shore Species 2012: Bugger All !! |
