| Hello, I am not a fisher of any kind myself, and to be honest, nor is my Dad, but I know he would love to go out to see, cast his rod and try to catch something. He recently became ill, and as such I've promised him that I'll take him out to sea to catch some fish. I live in London, he lives in Kent. I'd like someone to recommend a business that offer trips and equipment to beginners where we have a chance of catching something... ideally. I'd like to go in Spring when the weather starts heating up. Hope this is the right section... Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks Dan |

| Re: Help needed to choose how and where to take my Dad on a sea fishing treat. Dan, The immediate reaction would for you to find out the charter boats out of Kent in an area that is near you both - do your homework and then once youve got an idea of who they are put in on this forum and the other very well known one and see what the anglers who have already used them have to say - that way youll get the real comments. If its your first time out you will need to look at how far you are happy to go out - most charters vary from 20 - 30 miles in my experience so quite a long day but good fun, some specialise in a day afloat for beginners and supplying equipment and others dont. However if its a little closer in you are after then you could do a local makeral trip or something simular where its close to shore, less expensive and in all honesty more likely to be full of fish. But like I say look around on google or check out a few forums and see what people recommend. Hope you get something sorted and enjoy. __________________ So near yet so far - Wembley 2008 - Zideered Right Up ! |

| Re: Help needed to choose how and where to take my Dad on a sea fishing treat. Hi Dan, There are quite a few charter skippers around the South coast that will help you, try this website. www.deepsea.co.uk. I can reccomend an excellent skipper in Brighton, Chris Bray (Great Escape). The only drawback is that he is normally booked up well in advance. Not knowing where you might prefer to charter from it is difficult to name others. Once you decide on what port you want to use please let us know. | Re: Help needed to choose how and where to take my Dad on a sea fishing treat. Alright fella. I fish three or four times a year from weymouth's charters. You can fish for virtually anything depending on the time of year. The skippers here seem happy to have either experts or beginners on their boats. Most offer rods, reels and tackle. I would reccommend that if you want a good days fishing come down to Weymouth. To look for skippers google "deep sea directory" and you will have the whole charter fleet for the south west. Good luck |
