I fish the Channel regularly and find the Abu Conolon Pro a very very good rod. Handles up to 10ozs twist and lock Butt so easier to handle fishing or reeling in.

Good all round action very good bite detection for Sole and Bass, plus it handles big Cod a treat!

I can highly reccommend it.

Devon Angling Centre £88; I think it's the same rod?

http://www.anglingcentre.net/acatalog/abuptide.html

Anybody know if the Bravura 10' uptider is any good? Local welsh tackle shop selling them at £55 and say highly rated by TSF. AT and SA. I think they used to cost a lot more than this?

I'm asking because I also need to buy two uptide rods - want to reduce your hoard Smoothy?
