my boat blue mist's new heart

as some might know iv been on the prowle for a bargain engine to replace my poor old brown bad mercury and hears the doner rib ,trailor and engine i got for a 1K(the are bargains out there to be had)

so after a service and few nites of hard work i got the engine running and stopped it over heating.
main problems been it was left for 2 years untouched , so the carbs were gammy , the water pump housing cracked , thermostat fooked, and steering tube bent.
once all this was sorted i fitted to my boat.

can you see my next engine on the whaler next mine...lol

and it did not take long to sell the rib on so quids in

on the first sea trail we have found that the carbs need a tune up and a fancy clean just for good measure so abi(from orca came down the yard today and wiped the carbs away for a fancy clean up, ready for tune and balence up.
after that i just got get the prop right, which at the moment i have a hunch is to deep a pitch but at least the prop is a easy fix. so fingers crossed this weekend i could be out there,
fish be afrade..............very afrade...............i have a figure to keep

Re: my boat blue mist's new heart

well it turned out the bottom carb was knackered like you would not belive, as it had had water sitting in it for 2 year....doh. and so was a ball of salt and oxidized dust inside, so after alot of penny piching(trying to save money to move house and owning a boat dont mix well) i took the plung and got a new carb for £270 from japan though chris at warash marine.

so £270 ,balence up and new prop its done, with a top speed 1 up and light of 34kn(bit unstable at that speed....lol). and 2up with kit it hits 27-28kn, so im in bizzo.
just need some time now.
after a long and shit year, me having my boat back in better shape than ever and my dad final getting better and now out of hospital for good after a long battle with cancer, has got to be be the turn for the good at last. just need to get the house move done now. and il be fishing at every chance .
