| Minehead Sunday 21st Hi all, AndyG and I with eight others fished with the Blandford SAC on Dave Roberts "ALY KAT" out of Minehead last Sunday. We steamed out at 0730 for an hour and half before hitting our first wreck at 0900. On the first drift nearly everyone was into fish, all Pollock of about 5lbs. The following four drifts followed the same pattern with everyone catching. Then with the fish supply drying up we eventually moved on and on fishing wreck after wreck until finally reaching our destination, "The Wall of Death", it certainly lived up to its name with everyone catching but loosing tackle. Along with Pollock, all around 5lb we had six sizable Bass. On the return journey we drifted the Bass grounds for an hour, unfortunately the Bass heard that we were coming and for reasons unknown to us! disappeared. All in all it proved to be a most enjoyable days fishing, believe it or not it was a lot better than pulling double figure fish up from 150ft of water. The sea was as flat as a pancake, that with a light breeze proved to be excellent fishing conditions. A total of 102 fish were taken between the 10 of us, 96 Pollock and 6 Bass, lots more were returned.
