funny looking kayak

Hi All

Been a while since i last posted but been mad busy and had computer issues but back with it now.

after months of being tempted by you lot and despite being mocked by a few of you (yes thats you philipn) I finally decided to bite the bullet and get myself a yak. I had done all the research and come to the conclusion that a banana yellow (you can call it sunset if it makes you feel better) ocean kayak with extra rod holders, a hummingbird fishfinder/gps combo, baitbucket etc was the way to go.

I took my hard earned down to the chandlers in the form of folding paper money, but neglected to leave my credit cards at home which is where I made my first mistake

anyway, the guy in the shop was a bit busy with another customer so while waiting for service I had a look around the yard, which was mistake number 2...

anyway cut a long story short I fell in love with this boat and just had to buy it.

and have found a nice home for it and joined in a tractor consortium so that I can launch it.

it is powered by this

I have had been out in it this weekend love it to bits

I have now vowed to leave the credit cards at home for all future shopping trips

Re: funny looking kayak

cheers lads... Ive checked with anglersafloat and although their rules are a bit sketchy about powered craft, they seem to think that if I cannot put it on the roof of my car and launch it by hand them i'm out.

just off to get a set of heavy duty roof bars to give it a go

ant tips on boating are appreciated. I have stocked her with flairs, life jackets and radio and am doing the RYA level2 powerboating course next week. I am no stranger to boats but all my experience has been in the med and not having to launch from a trailer every time.

will let you have a report when i fish from her, but am expecting much better session than from the beach.

anyone know of any good fish finders / gps thingies going rather inexpensively? i'm afraid I have really blown my budget

Thumbs up Re: funny looking kayak

Very nice boat mate, but it will look much better once it's covered in Mackie scales & smelly bits of squid Hopeing to get a fishing boat myself in the near future. Have to get signed up for a RYA course too.

Re: funny looking kayak

thanks for your kind words fellas. I never thought i would be saying this but I'm almost disappointed i'm going to silverstone to see the grand prix this weekend because i'm desperate to head out for a propper session.

please note the wipe clean nature of the seats, should be no problem with hosing the mackie scales and smelly squid off them

dont get any ideas about the colour philipn, the boat may be blue but i am still a red...
